Lord Creegan Stark, the 11th Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, the Wolf of the North,

he was called until he was called the Old Man of the North. He loomed as eternal as the

wall and Winterfell, at least compared to the lifespan of the usual Stark Lord or person.

And beyond that, he has acclaimed to be the most important of them all,

given that long lifespan and the massive impact he had on the history of West Rose.

Yeah, us, not just in the North, but across the seven kingdoms due to his role in the dance

and the dragons. But that part he played as major as it was in the dance came when he was only about

22 or 23 years old. And we just told you he lived long enough to get a second nickname

referring to his age. So he outlived the young king. He helped get settled.

Then the next Targaryen king and the next, probably the next after that.

Some of it gets a little hazy towards the end as we get into the periods where all eyes were on the

south or where the histories have not yet been revealed in great detail to us.

As always, though, even with partial information, there's an awful lot we know, a lot more we can

infer and a few other things we can throw in here and there, like details and jokes.

He married three times, had 10 children and unknown, but large number of grandchildren,

saw countless winters and battles and outlived almost all the peers of his youth and many of the

younger members of his own family. He's featured in some major enduring historical mysteries and

pops up in some eyebrow-raising spots within the main pages of the Song of Ice and Fire.

I think if we pulled the entire book reading fandom somehow, I don't know how we would ever do

that, but if we could, in my opinion, he'd be a favorite in the top five starts of all time

category. And there are reasons, lots of them, why people feel so strongly. We'll get into all
