Hey, good morning. It's Sunday, May the 24th. I'm Ali Velsche. We're following two major

developing stories this morning. President Trump is saying a deal to end the war with Iran has

been largely negotiated and will be announced shortly. We're watching for that announcement.

We have full coverage and we will go live to the region for the latest reporting if that

actually does happen because there is a lot of room for skepticism at this hour, as there has been

for the entirety of this war. This morning, despite his earlier comments about the closeness

of a deal, the president posted

an AI-generated image of a U.S. plane striking Iranian flagged ships captioned Adios.

And Iranian state media is saying that Iran will not accept restrictions on its nuclear

program as part of this deal.

Iran's nuclear program,

you might remember, was ostensibly Donald Trump's reason for launching this illegal war.

So we're staying on that story. Plus, we're learning more about the gunman who opened fire

at a security checkpoint near the White House and was shot and killed by secret service agents

last night.
