Something surprising happened earlier this month. Gremay, the iconic food magazine, the Kondy Nash

shuttered back in 2009, returned, but it wasn't Kondy Knaz who brought it back.

Last year, writer Sam Dean was browsing

the U.S. Trademark Database, and he discovered that Condy Nas did not renew Gourmet's trademark

back in 2021. And so Dean, with a group of four other journalists, secured the trademark

and launched Gourmet's first new installment, declaring, we are bringing Gourmet back from the dead.

On today's show, we're going to look back at Condy Nass Gourmet.

We're re-airing our 2019 episode with its final editor-in-chief, Ruth Reischel,

about the magazine's rise and fall,

from its outlandish expense accounts to its final day.

Someone said, how long do we have?

And he said, your key cards will work today and tomorrow until 5 o'clock.

And that was it.
