Hey, this is Beth.

Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people, the Word of God.

We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the word is alive and active.

We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is going to

speak through it. Thank you so much for giving us this privilege. Now, I want you to see something

here that I at least think is profound. You're in Genesis. Turn with me to Genesis chapter 49.

And I want to tell you a little story about where Levi got himself into some big trouble.

Genesis 49.

We're going to look at just a moment.

In fact, I'll go ahead and read it and then I'll explain it to you.

I want you to see the blessing of Abraham.

And this word blessing can mean,

it's a word that could be used for blessing or cursing.

And so Abraham is giving, or Jacob, rather, pardon me.

These are the sons, these are the descendants of Abraham,

but this is Jacob who has been renamed Israel

and the 12 he's going to bless. And every single one of them,

there's something that that's going to cling with them generationally for some amount of time.

And I want you to see Levi's in 5 through 7. It says,

Simeon and Levi are brothers. Their swords are weapons of violence.

Let me not enter their counsel.

Let me not join their assembly.
