Okay, this is Beth. Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people the Word

of God. We base our ministry on Hebrews 4.12 that tells us that the Word is alive and

active. We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is going

Now I want you to see something here that I at least think is profound. You're in Genesis,

turn with me to Genesis chapter 49 and I want to tell you a little story about where

Levi got himself into some big trouble. Genesis 49, we're going to look at just a moment.

In fact, I'll go ahead and read it and then I'll explain it to you. I want you to see

the blessing of Abraham and this word blessing can mean it's a word that could be used

for blessing or cursing and so Abraham is giving our Jacob rather pardon me. These are the

sons, these are the descendants of Abraham but this is Jacob who has been renamed Israel

and the 12 he's going to bless and every single one of them there's something that's going to

cling with them generationally for some amount of time and I want you to see Levi's in 5 through

7. It says, Simion and Levi are brothers, their swords are weapons of violence. Let me not enter

their council. Let me not join their assembly for they have killed men in their anger and ham

strong oxen as they pleased. Curse to be their anger. So fierce and they're fury so cruel. I will

scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel. It's very interesting because God did scatter them

and God did disperse them but not because of what he said he did it in such a way that he had turned

what might have been might have looked like cursing into blessing. Now let me take you back for

just a moment and I want to tell you why they got in such a big trouble because their sister

Dina was raped and instead of simply demanding justice upon the one who was guilty they went

into that community and slaughtered all the men in the community and the sons. So you talk about
