We The People, a weekly show of constitutional debate.

The National Constitution Center is a nonpartisan non-profit institution charted by Congress

to increase awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.

After more than 30 years on the Supreme Court,

on June 27th, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy

announced his retirement from the bench. We are joined today by three

former law clerks to Justice Kennedy who will help us understand the

constitutional vision of this tremendously significant justice.

We'll discuss what it was like to work for him and will help us understand together how he conceived of the Constitution

and this great document of human freedom that binds us. Joining us are John

Elwood, a partner at Vincent and Elkins Law Firm who teaches at the University of

Virginia School of Law Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, he clerked for Justice Kennedy in the

1996 term.
