Summary

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (05/19/2023):

3:05pm- On Thursday, several Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whistleblowers testified before a House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The hearing addressed alleged abuses of power by leadership within the FBI.

3:15pm- In his latest editorial at National Review, Andrew C. McCarthy writes: “Even before the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021, congressional Democrats had formulated a plan to project the illusion that the most perilous threat to American national security—not just in our time but in our history—was domestic terrorism fueled by white supremacists… House Democrats were proposing their so-called ‘Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act’… The real purpose of this legislation is twofold: (1) stigmatize as terrorism policies that progressives oppose; (2) establish in law requirements that induce the FBI and other federal agencies to inflate the number of domestic-terrorism investigations.” You can read McCarthy’s full editorial: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/05/democrats-cook-the-fbis-books-on-domestic-terrorism/

3:30pm- Rich has to remember to grab his trunk meat…what???

3:40pm- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whistleblower Steve Friend alleged that Director Christopher Wray is content with the way his bureau has become overtly politicized.

4:05pm- Although numerous whistleblowers reported abuse of power by the federal government at a House Select Committee hearing on Thursday, Newsbusters notes that the country’s major nightly news broadcasts—ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, and CBS Evening News—did not report on the hearing at all.

4:20pm- While speaking with former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Harry Litman, MSNBC host Nicole Wallace exclaimed that the FBI whistleblowers—who testified before Congress about FBI abuses of power—were guilty of insubordination.

4:30pm- Dr. Victoria Coates—former Deputy National Security Advisor & Senior Research Fellow at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to talk about the G7 Summit taking place in Japan. President Joe Biden is expected to leave the Summit early to engage in debt ceiling negotiations with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Republicans. Dr. Coates also weighs-in on the U.S. State Department adding pronouns to the emails of all its employees—in the process mislabeling the genders of many officials. PLUS, the Pentagon announces a $3 billion “accounting error.”

5:05pm- The Drive at 5: While speaking with FBI whistleblowers at Thursday’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Rep. Matt Gaetz’ (R-FL) questioning seemingly revealed that undercover officers were present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Gaetz tweeted that this is despite FBI Director Christopher Wray saying otherwise. On Friday, Gaetz held a press briefing to further address the explosive Congressional testimony.

5:15pm- On his MSNBC show, Chris Hayes claimed it was hypocritical for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to advocate for the prevention of “gender affirmation care” for children while concurrently arguing for parental rights in education.

5:25pm- During a Zoom meeting to discuss nominees to serve on the King County Regional Homelessness Authority Board in Seattle, co-chair of the committee Shanee Colston lost her mind when someone objected to appointing a convicted child rapist to the board—bizarrely defending the selection by exclaiming, “this is about equity!” You can read more here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12096893/Screaming-Seattle-official-tells-meeting-shes-glad-support-PEDOPHILE-homelessness-board.html

5:40pm- James Varney—Writer at RealClearInvestigations—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his most recent story, “Court Backlog Clog: It’s the Story of Immigration Now and It’s Growing Inexorably Worse.” Varney writes: “The average wait time for a ‘Notice to Appear’ before a judge at one of the nation’s 66 immigration courts is now four and a half years. In some cities it is much longer. In New York City, new migrants do not have to appear in court until 2032.” Locally, the backlog in Mount Laurel, New Jersey is over 4,000—with no new court dates for migrants until May of 2026, according to estimations. 5:50pm- While speaking at the Austria World Summit, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg argued that climate change has “always been on humanity’s mind” including in “scriptural traditions.” Does that mean Noah was the first victim of global warming?

6:05pm- According to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) filing, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted warrantless searches against U.S. citizens nearly 300,00 times between November 2020 and November 2021.

6:25pm- Tom Szymanski—Executive Director of the New Jersey Republican Party—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss a bill proposed by Democrats that would prevent Sheriff Shaun Golden from serving as Monmouth County GOP Chairman. Thankfully, the bill has been pulled.

6:45pm- In his latest piece at National Review, Jeff Zymeri writes: “Justice Neil Gorsuch has penned a passionate polemic against the emergency powers that were widely used during the Covid-19 pandemic, saying that while they may have solved some problems, they created many others. Gorsuch’s statement came in the Supreme Court’s final word on the effort of a group of states to challenge the end of Title 42.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/gorsuch-condemns-the-breathtaking-use-of-emergency-powers-during-covid/
