Summary

Well, friends, my voice has officially left the building. She’s been gone for a week now, and despite my best efforts (and an unreasonable amount of tea), she has not returned. So today, we’re doing something a little different. A very special guest is introducing the show, and because she so generously stepped in, I let her choose her favorite episode for us to revisit! So break out your ladles as we head back in time to March 2018, when we first talked about making soup on the show. I can’t wait to be back next week with a brand new episode. Hello, lazy genius listeners. This is Jenna Fisher. Don't worry, you're in the right place.

0:08.2

The reason you are hearing my voice instead of Kendra's is because Kendra lost her voice.

0:15.0

She caught that winter crud that's going around and she has no voice. She could not record a new

0:20.8

episode of lazy genius this week.

0:23.0

So the lazy genius team decided that they're going to re-air an episode of lazy genius while

0:29.8

Kendra recovers. And when they reached out to me and asked if I might like to intro the podcast today

0:36.5

because of Kendra's zero voice,

0:38.7

they also said I could pick the episode that re-airs. And I immediately knew the one I wanted.

0:46.2

So today, we are going to re-air one of my favorite podcasts of all time. And not just like

0:53.6

lazy genius podcast episodes, but of all podcast episodes

0:58.1

ever. It's the one where Kendra teaches us how to make soup without a recipe.

1:04.6

As many of you may already know, this episode goes way back like early, early lazy genius days.

1:11.0

It is the first episode that I heard and I was hooked.

1:15.5

First of all, after listening to this episode, I 100% learned how to make soup without a recipe,

1:22.5

which is amazing because Kendra breaks it down in her usual lazy genius way.

1:28.4

The very first soup I made was delicious.

1:31.1

So, of course, I kept listening to Kendra.

1:33.8

I mean, this woman just changed my whole soup life.

1:37.4

And then eventually, she had this podcast at one point about out-of-town guests, which we know is fun but also stressful, particularly

1:47.3

around meals, because meal planning is already a lot. But then you add more people. And sometimes

1:55.4

my family is coming from different time zones. People get hungry at different times. And when I get out of towners,

2:02.5

I always feel particularly stumped about lunches. Like dinners, I got that. We're going to probably
