Rick Bonus, head coach of the Winnipeg Jets has called it a career.

Now, one would normally assume that Scott R. Neal would fill that role automatically.

We'll see what happens.

I don't know that this should be a total surprise for a lot of people

There was some speculation given the the health issues that both Rick Bonus and his wife had gone through this past season,

that there was a chance that Rick Bonus would not come back. I will say one thing. Take about a tremendous

career for Rick Bonus. Whenever I see

when I see Victor Hedman on the ice

with the Tamba Bay Lightning,

I always think of Rick Bonus.

He was the first, like,

Victor Hedman sort of grew up and went through all of hockey very suspicious of

coaches and didn't trust a lot of coaches and that goes back years and years and

years and

years and years and Rick Bonus was the first coach to really get through to Victor Hedman.

I remember talking to him on the 32 Thoughts podcast years ago

and Bonas said like the only way to get through to Victor Hedman was to get through the person get through to the person first and the player second.

So it was a lot of long talks about everything outside of hockey and is Victor Hedman the same player if he doesn't go through having Rick Bonus as his as his blue line coach probably not but there are a lot of players like that that will turn and point to Rick Bonus and say this guy made me a pro, take a bow, Rick Bonus, he calls it a career today.
