Today's episode is with the USGA's Senior Managing Director

of Governance, Thomas Pagel. You're probably wondering who Thomas Pagel is. You

probably remember him from rules and

rulings and such and US opens of past. Thomas also

runs the distance insights project at the USGA

and with last week's big announcement we wanted to have a bond to talk about

it's near and long-term implications on golf.

For those of you that might not know with distance insights

project is it centers around the golf ball equipment

and where the game's going and whether or not the

current regulation on different aspects of equipment

needs to be recalibrated. So obviously

major implications in terms of what professional golf might look like

and even what golf at the local level might look like.
