The suggestion that we were engaged in some irregular or rogue diplomacy is absolutely false.

And there's really no back channel because everyone was in the loop.

Everyone was in the loop. It was no secret to anyone was going on.

And he had the full buy-in of the whole government on this.

Everyone was informed via email on July 19th.
