Hi, everyone. This is Dr. John DeLan of Mormon Stories Podcast. I want to thank you for joining us today on this epic 17-part series featuring Dr. Matthew Harris and his amazing book, Second Class Saints, Black Mormons, and the struggle for racial equality. This series has been groundbreaking. We've never had the response so far that we've had in terms of people really valuing our in-depth coverage of this groundbreaking book that's talking about the Mormon churches priesthood and temple ban against black people.

0:34.7

And then the dynamics, the inner workings, the political machinations of how the sausage gets made in terms of lifting the priested ban in the aftermath.

0:44.2

So we have some good news and bad news about this series.

0:47.2

The good news is, thanks to the generous donations of those who have been watching it so far, we've been able to, I believe, more than generously

0:54.3

compensate Dr. Harris for his contributions. That's the good news. The bad news is, you know,

1:02.4

because we made the promise that 100% of the donations would go to Matt, we have not received

1:08.5

any compensation for about the $20,000 of production costs that we incurred to produce this series.

1:16.1

And that sort of imbalance would make it so we wouldn't be able to produce series like this going forward.

1:21.9

So if you value this series, if you want to see the Open Stories Foundation also be compensated for its

1:31.3

production cost for this series. And if you want to see series like this with Matt and with other people continue,

1:36.3

we kind of need you to step up and donate to cover our production costs. And it's really easy to do that.

1:43.3

All you have to do is go to mormastories.org to do is go to mormousstories.org slash donate

1:45.9

or go to mormastories.org and click on the donate button.

1:49.1

And you can do a one-time donation, a recurring donation.

1:52.7

And if you want to, you can type second-class saints or Matt Harris in the description.

1:57.0

And that will hopefully allow us to cover our production costs for this epic series.

2:03.2

Regardless, we want to thank Dr. Matt Harris for his generosity in doing this series.

2:10.0

We want to thank all of you who have supported us.

2:11.8

Please go by this book, Second Class Saints, Black Mormons, and the struggle for racial equality.

2:17.5

And again, if you're wanting, if you're grateful for this series and you haven't donated

2:22.3

and you want to see it continue, please, please donate to Mormon Stories podcast.
