Last weekend I shared with you about the last week of Jesus' life on this earth, not after the ascension,

0:07.4

after the resurrection before the ascension, but before his resurrection. And we talked about Friday through the Thursday and now

0:16.8

we're going to talk about Friday Saturday and Sunday and I told you that I

0:21.1

would probably preach on the last day, but as I prayed, I couldn't just preach on Friday,

0:27.0

without talking about Saturday and Sunday as well, because Sunday turned out pretty well, you know, and resurrection day. So we're going to talk about Friday,

0:36.2

Saturday, and Sunday, but I need to remind you that a Jewish day begins when sundown and the way they interpret that

0:48.7

there's nothing in scripture that says this but at one point they decided we need to kind of have a precise

0:55.5

time and so they so they say when three stars appear and the scripture they base it on is two or three witnesses. So that third star is the third

1:07.3

witness that the day is the evening has begun and it goes back to Genesis one the evening in the morning or the

1:14.4

first day the evening in the morning where the second day okay so we're gonna

1:18.5

talk about that but these three days to me represent the death, the burial, and the resurrection, which are the three

1:25.8

parts of the gospel.

1:28.6

So we'll talk about that.

1:30.2

Just so you know the scripture, 1st Corinthians 15,

1:33.2

uh, verse 3, Paul said, I deliver to you first of all,

1:37.2

that which I also received, and these are the three parts of what we call the gospel,

1:41.2

because verse 1 of chapter 15 says this is the

1:44.6

gospel and of course the word gospel means good news so here's the good news that

1:49.2

Christ died for our sins that's good good news. According to the scriptures, that he was buried and that

1:56.6

he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. Now we're going to talk about also why the Bible doesn't just say that he died and

2:04.9

rose again but why being buried is important and why burial is important.

2:10.1

Alright, so number one, point number one is the first day. So we're going to talk about that first day.
