As we look towards Easter in the week of Jesus and the life before Easter, we're going to take a moment to look at what is known as the Last Supper. And this is the time where Jesus was sitting with his disciples right before he went to the Garden of Gassimony.

And this is where he told them somebody is going to betray me.

But that's not the only thing that happened at that meal.

At that meal is what is known as the first communion, where Jesus took bread and he took wine, and he initiated the beautiful act of communion.

maybe it was called the Eucharist, Communion, the Lord's Table. It has been known by many names,

but it is a beautiful practice that together we can celebrate. So if you are able, take a moment and pause this, go grab some juice, go grab

some bread or a cracker. It can even be milk, just something to drink and something to eat.

We're going to take these moments together to celebrate communion. And if you're at a place where

you can't grab anything to partake along with us,

join in, and in your spirit, do this along with us.

1st Corinthians 11, 23 to 26 says,

For I received the Lord what I also delivered to you,

that the Lord Jesus, on the night when he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks,

he broke it and said, this is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.

In the same way, he also took the cup after supper saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you do,

drink it and remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup,

you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

How beautiful is it that Jesus left us with this act of communion, of bread and wine, so that we could remember him.
