In this episode, a retired rodeo legend risks it all to save his grandson in director John

Abnett's drama, The Last Rodeo.

The film tells the story of Joe, a retired rodeo star who enters a

high-stakes bull riding competition to save his grandson. Along the way, he reconciles with his

estranged daughter and proves that true courage is found in the fight for family. In addition to the last rodeo,

Avnet's other directorial credits include the feature films,

Three Christs, Righteous Kill,

88 Minutes, and Fried Green Tomatoes,

and episodes of justified city primeval,

Sneaky Pete, and Boomtown.

He was nominated for the 2001 DGA Award

for Outstanding Directorial Achievement

in Movies for Television and miniseries

for Uprising,

and again in that same category

for his 2007 miniseries, The Starter Wife.
