| 0:06.0 | It is wonderful to be in Dallas tonight and with some great friends who have invited other friends over for, you know, friendship, good conversation, and now we're going to pray the rosary together. |
| 0:23.8 | So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. |
| 0:27.9 | Let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for. |
| 0:37.1 | Now, as you know, these last few days, we've been learning about what we call in theology the last things. |
| 0:43.9 | Death, our particular judgments, held, purgatory, |
| 0:48.3 | the things that will occur before the end of the world, because we're moving close to two big feast days, |
| 0:53.1 | all saints and all souls. |
| 0:55.0 | So today we meditate on the last judgment, the last judgment. |
| 1:02.0 | Now there are two judgments that we will experience. |
| 1:09.0 | Our particular judgment at the moment of death and then the last |
| 1:15.2 | judgment at the end of the world now in our particular judgment at the moment of death our life |
| 1:22.0 | will be measured against the life of Christ St. John of the Cross says, at the evening of life, we shall be judged by our love. |
| 1:35.1 | And at that point, we shall receive either immediate entrance into the blessedness of heaven |
| 1:40.6 | or through the purification of purgatory or immediate and everlasting damnation. |
| 1:47.2 | Now our particular judgment is about the story of our life. So at that point, we won't be able to talk about other people. |
| 1:59.2 | It's just about our life. The story of what we've chosen, either love of God |
| 2:06.3 | and neighbor over the love of self or the love of self over the love of God and neighbor. |
| 2:16.6 | And then the soul will go where it wants to go. If you wanted God, you will go |
| 2:23.6 | toward God. But if all you wanted in your life was yourself, then that's all you get forever. |
| 2:33.6 | And that's the definition of hell. Soul goes where it wants to go. |
