It's the 29th of May, 1154. In the desert outside Cairo, Nase Al-Din and his entourage

are on the run following a bloody killing spree in the city. Nase's plot against the Caliph,

his friend and according to some rumours, his lover, has ended in disaster. The young

Caliph lies hacked to pieces at the bottom of a well, but his supporters are rioting

in the streets. Nase and a small group of family and friends have been forced to flee

and disgrace, but they haven't left the city empty handed. The Egyptians have brought

with them as much of the royal palace as treasurer as they could loan onto the backs of their

horses and camels, along with a small retiny of slaves to help transport it all. In the

lollest desert, the caravan offers rich pickings of bandits, and the fugitives have made little
