This time shall we turn to the book of Joshua chapter 9.

Now the children of Israel had conquered

Jericho and Aye,

which were strong cities.

And the kings that were in the land of Canaan, where they were coming, felt that their only hope of stopping this

migration of these people into the land

would be by a combined effort

pooling all of their armies, all of their resources, and one massive assault against Israel.

Now this strategy was really prompted by the fact that the Gibeonites,

which did cover a area of several cities,
