Well, actually, no, let's do something else first. Let's just have a little bit of a wonder

about how you can be an apprentice doctor. Do you ever look at stories and find yourself

thinking, I am not clever enough to be certain that that is as stupid as it seems.

In other words, the people in charge.

I'm 51 now, so I can't really talk about the grown-ups anymore.

But I still feel that way about the world.

I think that's determined from childhood.

Some people are grown-ups, aren't they, when they're actually children?

And some people are grown-ups, but they're actually children.

What, what would that mean?

How can you be an apprentice doctor?

I don't quite understand even the thinking behind it.

And what I'm talking about is the fact that at that point, when I find myself examining these sort of issues, I think, oh, it must be me that doesn't behind it. And what I'm talking about is the fact that at that point,

You sort of read the story twice, and you think, an apprentice doctor, how on earth is that going to work? It must be me that doesn't understand what is going on. School leavers is the headline. school leavers can work as doctors without earning a degree.

But then you remember what's happened in British and American politics over the last six or seven years and you think to yourself, do you know what, perhaps it is as bonkers as it appears. Perhaps it is as crazy as crackers as it appears. I don't know whether we'll have time to get on to that program later, but I just didn't want you to feel alone if you were reeling from the revelation that the government is thinking of allowing one in ten doctors to start work without a traditional medical degree. It doesn't

mean that it's a bad idea, but it looks like one. Um, now the reason you can tell, I'm wondering how to approach this story now.
