Summary

The Old Testament account of Daniel and the furnace is an account of resistance in the face of a powerful empire. The book of Daniel is a story about one of the Jewish exiles in Babylon, Daniel, and his three friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and their confrontations in Babylon with the emperor, the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. In this sermon, we will see three things: 1) The pressure of pluralism; 2) The precision of true faith, and 3) The promises of suffering. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on August 21, 2011. Series: Theophany: Anticipations of Jesus in the Old Testament. Scripture: Daniel 3:14-29.
