For most of her life, Madame Delphine Lalloree was one of New Orleans most dignified citizens, but that changed in 1834 when a fire revealed a hidden room in her mansion where she'd tortured and killed her enslaved workers.

Rumors about what happened in that room ranged from scientific experiments to dark voodoo magic.
