a young woman lost her life at the hands of a man who, most would assume, was there to make sure

I met Carmela St. Gugien, a last name that was a combination of both her parents' surnames,

was born on March 2nd, 1982 in Boston, Massachusetts.

In 1999, after graduating from Boston Latin School,

it met moved to Washington, D.C., where she attended George Washington University,

majoring, like her father, in criminal justice.

In 2003, she graduated magna cum laude,

and immediately made her way to John J. College of Criminal Justice to pursue her master's degree.
