Tonight I will be reading a story called “A Kidnapped Santa Claus”, first published in 1904 by L. Frank Baum, the author of the Wizard of Oz. In this story we will hear about some uncommon events that take place in Laughing Valley where Santa lives with all his magical helpers. Beyond Laughing Valley, lies the Forest of Burzee. A large mountain stands there that contains the Cave of Demons, who conspire to kidnap Santa. But even when it looks as though the Demons may win, one can never underestimate the power of magical friends.
