Would you turn, please, to Matthew the 16th chapter, Matthew 16.

We'll begin reading in verse 13.

Matthew 16, 13.

It said, when Jesus came into the coast of Cessaria Philippi, he asked his disciples saying,

whom do men say that I, the son of man, am?

Of all the questions that you answer in this life, this is perhaps the most important one.

Who you think Jesus is and what you do with that knowledge determines what kind of life you have down here and determine what kind of life you have down here, and determines what

kind of eternity you have.

So it doesn't get any more important than this.

He says, whom do men, we might say, who do people say that I am, Jesus said.

Verse 14.

They said, well, some say you're John the Baptist.

Some say you're Elijah.

Some say you're Jeremiah, the prophet, or some say you're one of the prophets.

So there were a variety of opinions and positions about who he was.

And it's still that way today, isn't it?

There are people that believe that Jesus lived, he's a historical figure, but they don't even

believe that he is virgin born.

They don't believe he raised from the dead.

They believe he just a man.

He had an impact and influence and began Christianity

and that he's a great moral teacher.
