In this podcast, I want to really narrow in on the topic of appetite.
• Overweight people have insulin resistance and higher insulin.
• People with type 2 diabetes have 9 times more insulin than normal people.
Insulin is the hormone that not just blocks fat burning but keeps your appetite high. Most people never tap into fat burning, they're running on glycogen, and they have way too much insulin that keeps them hungry all of the time.
*You need to lower insulin and fix insulin resistance.
What is insulin resistance?
If you look at insulin like it's a key, one of its functions is to open the door on the cells to allow glucose to go in to feed the cells. But, it also allows amino acids and nutrients into the cell. If you have insulin resistance, you are not going to be able to allow the nutrition or the fuel to go into the cell. This situation will cause you not to feel satisfied.

| 0:48.9 | overweight people have insulin resistance and they have higher insulin five to seven times normal. And then you know |
| 0:59.7 | that people with type 2 diabetes have nine times more insulin than normal people. Now why is that |
| 1:07.2 | significant? Because insulin is the hormone that not just blocks fat burning, |
| 1:13.6 | but it keeps your appetite high. Because if you're not going to burn fat, guess what you're going to be |
| 1:18.7 | burning? Glucose, sugar. The problem is you only have about 1,700 calories of stored glycogen or stored sugar, but you have 100,000 calories of fat, |
| 1:32.6 | and that is on a thin person. So if you're overweight, you have way more than 100,000 calories |
| 1:38.9 | of fat sitting on your body. That's your reserves. Many people just never tap into to the fat. They're running on the glycogen, |
| 1:46.3 | and they have way too much insulin that keeps them hungry all the time. So here you are. You're hungry, |

| 2:02.6 | Well, the most important thing is to lower the insulin and fix insulin resistance. |
| 2:07.6 | Okay? |
| 2:08.6 | But to do that, we have to understand what insulin resistance is. |
| 2:13.6 | If you look at insulin as a key, one of the functions is to unlock the door on the cells |
| 2:20.9 | to allow glucose to go in to feed the cells. But it also allows amino acids to enter the cell. |
| 2:29.3 | It also allows nutrients to go in the cell, like potassium, magnesium, vitamin D, B1, vitamin C, zinc, |
| 2:39.9 | chromium, a lot of other minerals and a lot of other nutrients. So if you have insulin |
| 2:45.2 | resistance, you are not going to be able to allow the nutrition or the fuel to go into the cell. So you're not |
