What's up, friends? Welcome to another episode of the Steve Weatherford Show. And I'm joined by my best

friend. I'm joined by my wife, Laura Weatherford. And today, we want to talk to you about the power of prayer

and what we've seen prayer do in our marriage. And in a really short period of time,

um,

I have felt challenged by mentors in my life to begin to lead my marriage to the next level.

When I say the next level,

I have had mentors that have helped to expose parts of how I'm leading my marriage that are not biblical.

And one of those ways to share with you that I was not leading my family and especially my

marriage in a biblical fashion is I wasn't praying out loud to and over my wife.

She wasn't praying out loud over me we weren't reading the scripture

together and there's four assignments and i'm not going to spend time on them there's four

assignments that a man has and it's to be a prophet a priest a king and a warrior to his family

and in his family.

And part of the prophet and priest's role that you have is exactly what it is that I just shared with you.

But today, I want to share with you a statistic that I saw right about the same time that my

mentor is saying, hey, I'm noticing that you're not

leading your marriage this way. Let's take some action. I read a quote from a study Rick

Warren. And if you don't know who Rick Warren is, he's a very impactful, legendary pastor.

And he did a study of 1,000 and found out in this study of thousand people of thousands of people he noticed that there was only one out of 1,152 marriages that ends in

divorce if both people in that married relationship

pray out loud over each other and read the scripture together at least five times per week.

And there were seasons of our marriage and some of them were as recent as three, four,
