Welcome back to another episode of Smallball with Kenny Beachham.

0:08.4

I'm excited to have y'all.

0:09.9

And I want to do a little bit of promotion to start off this show.

0:13.5

One of the reasons we left our last company is because I wanted to have full-own ownership

0:18.1

of every piece of property that I put out.

0:20.2

And I wanted to start a network. I wanted to have it so that the homies piece of property that I put out. And I wanted to start a network.

0:38.7

I wanted to have it so that the homies can have their own shows or, like, there are smaller podcasts or YouTube channels that we can bring on to the network and help fund them and do some great things. I want to let you know, we just launched a new show called Teed Up with Pierre Andresen, which is my cousin. He's my co-host on the other podcast, Numbers on the board.

2:02.2

He just dropped an episode with Gordon Hayward as his first guest. I listened to it on the way to the studio here. Absolutely great interview. Shout out to Gordon Hayward. You know, sometimes you get a player and you don't really know how much it's going to give you in an interview. Gordon Hayward was as candid as possible. And he went through so many ups and downs in his career that it was a great, great listen and a great, great watch. So you can find that on YouTube, find that on Spotify, wherever you get your podcast. Shout out to Pierre for somebody with not a ton of interviewing experience. I think he's great at it and just imagine what the show can be like when he continues to get more reps and reps and reps. Like we had a conversation not too long ago, me and the rest of the guys candidly about like, what do you think you're great at in this profession? And one thing you think that you struggle with and want to get better at. And I gave Pierre a lot of flowers at like his charisma when it comes to meeting new people and meeting guests and interviewing guests. So that's why it made so much sense for him to have a show where he can bring people in because, you know, like, okay, it's not the same level. But do you remember when Jalen Brown told Taylor Rooks that he wanted five championships before he was 30 or whatever the hell the thing was? That's a couple different factors to make him say that, but the comfortability that he felt in that moment because he had a good interviewer there. I feel like Pierre does that. And I envy that. And I'm trying to get better at it. But if you want to see somebody that's top tier, Pierre is the guy. So go check out teed up. I also want to say right off top, I mentioned that we have a live show in San Francisco for All Star weekend. Sold out. Didn't even take a week. Bigger venue than

2:07.4

when we were at All Star completely, completely sold out. Two guests as far as I know signed on.

2:13.3

I can't tell you who it is just yet. But if you got your tickets, just know we appreciate you because

2:17.2

people wouldn't book out these venues or even think about us having a live show if y'all weren't going to show up. So again, I appreciate you as always. I try to let y'all know that as much as possible. On today's episode, I want to get back into a bag that I used to get to every single season. Last week, we found out who the All-Star starters was. There was no real surprises, even though Twitter had a problem with a couple of different things. I was kind of cool with it. And we found out who the All-Star Reserves are. Cool. Shout out to everybody that made it. Spoiler, I'm recording this before that even happened. So a shout-out to everybody that made it. I used to do this thing called the Kenny for real All-Stars. And what that was back in the day, if you didn't know, I have a channel named Kenny For Real that also is basketball oriented, where I just picked some of my favorite non-star players in the league and give them some flowers. Simple as that. You know, when you talk about All-Stars, you usually have this criteria. It's like being a superstar is usually one, being amazing at basketball, being on a winning team, being a one or two option on a winning team. There's a lot of different factors there, but there's a lot of numbers and analytics that go into all of that. The candy for All-Stars is kind of just Vabs. And in a world where analytics is killing the game,

3:25.7

no, I'm talking. When a world with analytics, it seems like to be king more and more every single day,

3:30.3

I feel like we kind of need a strictly off the vibes type of thing. One thing that I did to make this

3:36.2

even more difficult this year than previous years, no duplicate players. So if I had Joseph for a

3:40.9

Kennedy for All-Star two years ago, I'm sorry you don't make the cut. For reference, two years ago, our captains or our back court was Alice Caruso and Derek White. Both of those guys still doing great things. I wish Alex Caruso didn't turn his ankle every time he touched the basketball court nowadays. But those are the type of players we're talking about. A lot of the cases of Keeney for All-Stars are the guys that I feel like are contributing to basketball wins that don't get the last shot at the end of the game. These are the guys just chasing the primary ball handler over screens. These are the guys playing great drop coverage and so on and so forth. So I just absolutely love this and I'll give you you my ballot, East and West, and I'll give you the reasons why. Starting off with the Eastern Conference, my number one guard when it comes to Kenny for All-Stars, is Andrew Nimhar, a name that we mentioned maybe a month ago when we talked about the Indiana Pacers continuing to get better and better and better. They were on a nice little street.

4:36.8

And I told you how insane, it's not the reason why he's here, how insane his advanced analytics were.

4:45.1

And though his advanced analytics in the eye test don't match up perfectly because the analytics say he is as impactful as a defender as Yokic as an offensive player, not kidding.

5:04.4

When you watch the Indiana Pacers, you really see the defensive impact that Andrew Nimhard as the point of attack defender. And a lot of stuff that he was doing was like before Aaron E. Smith came back from his injury. And now that they're both in the lineup and both of them playing together, even though they got to win the other day without Nim Hard in there. You can see his impact completely. And I think he's tasked to do a lot of different things on the Indiana

5:08.9

Paces defensively, where it is being at the point of attack, fighting over, going under. He's just

5:14.0

a brilliant basketball player. And there are a few guys on his list. And one of them also is a backup

5:20.4

here on my own on own mind that I feel like

5:23.4

there are a couple different archetypes of player in basketball. Like there's a type of dude that
