Walter is the Harold E. Worth endowed chair and professor of economics at the College of Business

Loyola University, New Orleans. He is the author of more than 700 referenced articles

in professional journals and law reviews, three dozen books and thousands of op-eds,

including in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and numerous other places.

He has written many, many, many books. I think

he said, over 30, and those include the classical liberal case for Israel, and most recently

action and choice and introduction to economics. Hi, Walter. So nice to have you on.

Good to be with you, Carol. Thanks for having me.

Introduction to economics seems like everybody should be reading this.

We're recording this. I mean, my show's run a few weeks after recording.

So we're recording this the day after the socialist earthquake in New York City.

And it seems like nobody understands economics anymore. Do you see that

happening? Well, I think you're right. I fear you're right. I don't like the fact that you're

right, but you're right. Economics is a mystery. You know, when I have intro classes in economics, I sometimes say, look, if I

said H2O is water, would anyone be dismayed and horrified and say I'm a racist and a fascist?

No.

Yes.

And if I said two plus two is four, will you be upset? No.

And if I said E equals MC square, would anyone take offense?

No.
