Summary

Cobra Kai is one of the hottest shows in television, and when Peter Laviolette brought the show into his dojo, or, the Caps locker room, the Karate Kid himself took notice. Before the last meeting against the Islanders Alexa Shaw, Alan May and Nick Ashooh got a chance to speak with Ralph Macchio about the new connection to the Caps, his love of hockey and his Islanders, and what it's been like to bring the Karate Kid franchise to a new generation of fans. Plus, Nick takes a quick look ahead to the Caps' future coming out of the mini-break in the season as the Caps look to stay hot in the 2nd half.

We go from Ralph Machio in a few minutes. We're in now to the, I did the math. It's like 44.5% of the capital schedule that's left. So they had their break. It's not quite a half, but we're close to it. And by math, I mean, I let like a robot do it for me. I asked my Alexa to do the math,

1:11.7

which is great. It's convenient. I don't know why they teach you math in school anymore. You just let the robots do everything for you, but apparently they still want to teach you that kind of stuff. And that's, it's really our cold brood check presented by Duncan. It's the last 25 or so games of the season depending on when you're listening to this and the importance of that.

1:28.8

And I know we stress it so much in. last 25 or so games of the season, depending on when you're listening to this.

1:33.3

And the importance of that. And I know we stress it so much in the pregame show and post game show and on this podcast, but it really is important to get as many points as you

1:39.6

can going down this stretch because, you know, the capitals don't play for a few games.

1:44.0

And then you end up losing first place in division, but it's not like you've actually played. Like that's the type of thing that can happen where the standings can change in a day. You've got a couple of games with New Jersey and then the Rangers after that, which we know, I don't know what it is about the Rangers, but they just can't seem to beat this team. It's downright almost impossible.

2:01.1

You get one win out of it. It's for some reason the Rangers have the capitals figured out. One more with the Islanders before two more with New Jersey, then back to the Islanders again. And you kind of go down that final stretch. By the way, there's a lot of the Islanders still coming up. I mean, you got a, what, a three game set with them, April 22nd of the 27th.

2:18.1

So yeah, I mean, granted, you're what, a three games set with them, April 22nd of the 27th.
