Our interview with Julie Ragolia is stylish. Julie—reknowed stylist—just came back from being on the road and was kind enough to stop by the stu to talk about her ridiculous month of travel, constantly renegotiating your NYC closet space, shopping games not for the faint of heart, just how underrated is Zegna, which of her famous clientele smells the best, models' pretty privilege of being walking clothes racks, celebs being receptive to her big ideas to push their personal style, how she measures whether a look is a success or not, getting literal death threats for styling Pedro Pascal, styling red carpet vs. runway, our current era of the image maker, being pigeonholed as a woman stylist in menswear, how she started working with Kartik Research and what small brands might be next up, working at MTV in the 2000s, styling crutches and tips, how she defines her own personal style, a summer style state of the union, the Hermès grail that got away, and much more on Julie Ragolia's interview with The Only Podcast That Matters™.

Then I went to Paris. Then I went to London for a night. Um, then I went to back to Milan. Then I went back to Paris. What the fuck? Then I went to London in order to go to Liverpool to watch the football. Ah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. P SG one, which I know was going to happen. Oh, no. But I'm a diehard Liverpool support. Oh, really? Yeah. When you, okay, I kind of ask that joke. I kind of asked a question not realizing how insane that answer is going to be. As a stylist, when you pack for a trip that has 17 legs, what's your philosophy, mentality, gameplay going in? I mean, as much as you can shove, shove it. You're a shover. You're not a fighter. You know what's funny? Even if I'm like not going somewhere for that long or it's summer where things are maybe a bit smaller, I still, if there's space in the Ramova, I'm going to use it. Shout out Ramova because you really saved my life all the time.

How do you do laundry on the road at the hotel? Do you have dry cleaners in every city? What's the plan? Yeah, I'll usually

2:07.6

reserve for when I'm at a hotel that I know I'm good to, you know, to do the dry cleaning or

the cleaning. Paris, I have an apartment. So, yeah, yeah. yeah. Very cool. Yeah. Piattaire. Yeah. It means apartment in front. Thank you. Um, it means grip. But when you're, when you're packing, are you like, oh, I'm somebody that I, I just shove a bunch of shit in there, but I'm like, oh, this is kind of versatile. I'm not planning fits, but I know that I like wearing the shirt with like various pants. I know these pants, you know, will fit on any occasion. Is that how you're thinking?
