0:00.0	Today I thought we would talk about, as Dave Chappelle said, the juicy smoulier hoax,
0:09.5	the actor from Empire who pulled a hoax and convinced the world that something bad had happened
0:19.3	that actually did not happen.
0:21.5	He hired like two of his friends to commit this hoax with him.
0:28.6	And then later got, you know, it got perpetuated.
0:31.4	And the media was like, oh my God, it's so horrible what happened to him.
0:34.1	Turns out like the dude made it all up.
0:36.5	Then he got prosecuted. It got found guilty. And so I just thought it was interesting because there's been quite a few of these things have gone around the last few years that all were these big type of things that what was implied was there was racism going on and a race crime or a hate crime or something like that.
0:58.7	And it turns out that the people that reported that they were the victims had actually done these things as performances to get attention for whatever reason.
1:10.6	And so juicy smoulier, as Dave Chappelle said, is the actor.

1:19.4	The fact this guy wasted the country's time and law enforcement resources for something that was all BS.
1:30.4	I had a time.
1:31.7	Potentially was him trying to use it as to get sympathy so he'd get a bigger contract or something in the TV series.
1:39.3	Yeah, well, he was getting paid well and it looked like he wanted his mom.
1:43.8	He wanted more, so that's the case and
1:47.4	yeah but let's get into the timeline and then we started like making our like assumptions and stuff
1:55.1	like that so according to BBC on january 29, that's when the alleged incident took place.
2:03.8	Chicago police say they're investigating a suspected racist and homophobic attack on Jesse.
2:09.8	Juicy Smolier.
2:10.9	Juicy. I'm going to say the regular.
2:13.3	Jesse Smolet by two masked men, which happened at about 2 a.m.
