0:00.0	In our world, there is so much sorrow, misery, and sadness.
0:12.6	We see indicators all around us that reveal to us that most people are looking for something,
0:18.2	anything, that can bring them true joy. In this study on joy,
0:23.5	Scott Pauley will take us to God's Word and help us discover the source of true, lasting joy.
0:30.0	And as we study the Bible together, we will find that God's joy is readily available to us
0:35.7	through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
0:45.2	Have you ever pondered what makes the Lord rejoice? I mean, honestly, what brings a smile
0:51.5	to the face of Jesus? What brings gladness to the heart of God?
0:56.3	Well, I believe scripture bears that out.
1:00.3	In a word, it is this.
1:02.1	It is the joy of sinners coming to salvation.
1:07.3	When sinners come to the truth and come to God and have their hearts changed, that brings God the greatest joy.
1:16.4	Let me give you two passages today, one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, to connect in your thinking.
1:23.9	From the Old Testament, a scripture that we very rarely go to, the book of Zephaniah, yes, that is in your Bible.
1:30.8	Zefaniah chapter 3 and verse number 17 says this,
1:35.6	The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty.
1:39.9	He will save.
1:41.7	He will rejoice over thee with joy.
1:45.9	He will rest in his love.
1:48.6	He will joy over thee with singing.
1:51.2	Notice that the Savior is the singer.
1:55.2	That the one doing the redeeming is the one doing the rejoicing.
