I want you to turn in your Bibles to Romans chapter 8.

I know that I normally tell you to turn to two passages of scripture, and I guess if you really

wanted to, let me see if I can find another one for those diehard fan.

To 1st Timothy 2, you could put a marker at 1st Timothy 2 if you wanted to.

But we're going to be in Romans 8 for quite a few scriptures, all right? Romans chapter 8 and the title of this message is The Joy of Intercession.

Now let me explain something to you the joy of

intercession. I lived for years where those two words wouldn't go in the same sentence. Joy and intercession. I'm a

bottom-line person. I've told you that before. I like to get to the bottom line. I like to get to the bottom line.

I like to talk to people who like to get to the bottom line.

I like to talk to people who even know that there is a bottom line in the conversation. I can't tell you how many times I've

been thinking and praying dear God if there's a point please help her get to it.

But I'm a bottom line person and so my prayers seem to get to the bottom line as well. You know, dear God, fix it. And for years when I thought of the word intercession or intercessors I thought of

people who like to pray long prayers and I knew I'm not an

intercessor because I'm not a person who likes to pray long when they announce an

all-night prayer meeting I don't get excited and if you're

going to have an all night prayer meeting and won't invite me I'm already scheduled

for something else just to let you know. But the word intercession doesn't mean long praying. It has a completely

different meaning and all of us can intercede. So I want to show you

some things about the joy of intercession and I have three points and I do this to

help us remember so that during the week we can think about it and remember the truth that God's given us. Here's number one. Jesus is intercede.

According to scripture, we're about to read the verses, Jesus is interceding.
