Nehemi 8 and 9 said that Nehemiah and Ezra the priest and the Levites talked to people and said to the people,

This day is holy to the Lord your God.

Mour not nor weep.

For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.

They saw how far off they had gotten and how they had not been keeping the word of the Lord.

And they were crying and they were mourning.

And the leaders, Nehemi, Ezra the priest, Levites, they told the people quit it.

Quit mourning and quit weeping, quit crying.

Now, we're going to see more in just a moment, but would the Lord tell you to do something you can't do?

If he says, quit grieving, quit mourning, quit crying.

Can you quit?

Now, so a lot of people don't believe this.

They'd look at you and say, you know, what are you being so mean for? I'm hurting.
