Nehemiah 8 and 1st Peter 1. We began some weeks ago on a series we're called

and these things are important the word of God is so rich, so wonderful.

Our minds need to be renewed to think like him.

And His Word enlightens us.

In Nehemi 8, the people had backslidden, they had gotten away from God.

And under the leadership of Nehemiah, they were coming back.

And one of the things they did is they had a day where they read the Word of God for hours

and hours. And then the priests came and taught on what had been read.

And they basically had a whole day of the word of God. And the Bible said in verse 9, Nehemi 8, 9,

Nehemi, which is the Tashatha and Ezra, the priest, the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people,

said to all the people, this day is holy to the Lord your God.

Mour not, nor weep.

For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.

You can be sincere in your heart and yet respond wrongly to God.

Even though you're sincere, you can respond wrongly.
