Summary

“MK Confidential” continues its deep dive into the murder of JonBenét Ramsey. It’s March 1997, and veteran homicide detective Lou Smit joins the investigation expecting to prove the parents did it. Instead, the evidence leads him in the opposite direction. Megyn Kelly follows Smit’s case for an intruder: an open basement window, a suitcase beneath it, marks on JonBenét’s skin, a garrote, a scream in the night, and unidentified male DNA. But every clue has a counterargument, from an apparently untouched spiderweb to a failed stun-gun test and a ransom note written with the family’s own pad and pen. By the fall of 1998, the investigation has split into two camps. Boulder detective Steve Thomas is convinced the answer lies inside the Ramsey home. Lou Smit is just as certain an intruder came in from outside. Both men are reaching their breaking point—and the case is headed to a secret grand jury.
