It's only 17 days until Gascones out of office.

And the Menendez brothers hearing is scheduled for December 11th.

That's nine days after Gascon would be out of office.

But not slowing him down.

He has coughed up a 600-page court filing to try to convince a judge that the Menendez brothers

deserve to be released.

And Alex Stone from ABC News has all the details.

Hey there, John.

Yeah, this thing is like a book.

You put it down on the table, 600 pages. And this is all about the rehabilitation of the Menendez brothers, which is really the argument the Gascon is making, leading up to these hearings that are coming up. There's going to be the one in about a week and a half arguing for where Marghergos is arguing for a new trial, claiming that there's new evidence.

At this point, Gascon is not really doing that.

He's more going on the rehabilitation side of it.

And in this filing, that's what it's all about, saying that they have been rehabilitated,

that they should be able to get out.

And in these documents, there are statements and testimony from prison guards and prison leaders

saying that they have been modeled prisoners, that they have spent their time in prison

running mindfulness groups, hospice, addiction care programs running a no-violence challenge

in the prison in San Diego County, making prison green spaces better and art projects better, painting murals, and they deserve to get out.
