Taylor Swift, three concerts in Vienna, have been canceled.

Two teenagers had a plot to kill a lot of people with their car, with bombs, with machetes.

And they had recently been radicalized on the internet to become proud members of ISIS.

They weren't actually in ISIS.

I guess they were just spiritually connected to it.

I don't, who knows how that happens.

But we're going to talk with Brad Garrett, the terrorism analyst for ABC News.

Brad, how are you?

I'm good, John. Thanks.

This, it seems like they had the bomb materials, they had the machetes, they had the car, They had friends of theirs working security on the inside.

This really had a good chance of happening if the authorities hadn't gotten wind of it.

I think that's correct.

In particular, if they stuck with the outside of the arena.

So in other words, if the plan was to attack with explosives, maybe cars, with knives, machetes, etc., these large groups of people that apparently gather, even the ones who don't have tickets outside Taylor Swift's concerts, where you've got maybe tens of thousands of people. And so, you know, I think their

thought was it's a ripe target. It's, it would be considered a reasonably soft target because

it's not inside the arena. And they could have caused a lot of mayhem if in fact, if the police hadn't figured out what they were doing.

My sense is, based on what the Austrian police are saying, is that the 19-year-old, who, for lack of better terms, I think is the ringleader, he was on their radar screen.

And I haven't defined what that means.
