And we're going to talk with the Assemblyman Republic, the Assembly Republican leader, James Gallagher.

This is a story that we have been following for a week or so, and it's been zinging and zagging.

I'll give you a capsule because it's hard to determine exactly what's been going on,

but they passed a minimum wage fast food bill,

jacked it up to $20 an hour for people who shake fried baskets and flip burgers.

But it looks as if Paneras got an exemption.

They didn't have to pay $20 an hour.

The owner of a lot of Panera franchises is Greg Flynn.

Greg Flynn donated $164,000 to Gavin Newsom over the years, various campaigns.

And also was involved in another business deal with Newsom some years ago.

So now the exemption was about bread that you didn't have to pay minimum wage to your employees as a fast food restaurant

if you baked your own bread and sold it sold it by by the loaf really um and so it was called

the the bakery exemption.

So is this just a bribe that, a disguised bribe that led to this exemption in the legislation?

Let's talk with James Gallagher, the Assembly Republican leader,

because Newsom's been acting really swirly about this for a couple of weeks now.
