This past half hour, I told you a lot about an LA Times story that dealt into how out of control

the vagrant situation is in one specific Hollywood neighborhood.

But it's a problem all over Nithia Rahman's district.

Because her district is weird.

It's partly in the valley, goes over the mountains and into Hollywood,

all the way down to mid-city. And there's rampant homeless people. One woman describes it as,

and her name is Jeannie Griffin.

She's a therapist who specializes an addiction.

So she knows what she's looking at every day in the street.

She said a lot of the homeless have signs of serious methamphetamine use.

They act out in frightening ways. They confront passers by, yelling at cars, masturbating in public. They're agitated,

combative. They're talking to themselves. You want a combative, agitated man who's masturbating

in public. That's what you have to deal with on the streets of L.A., especially if you live in

Nithia Rahman's district. And she's been there three and a half years and hasn't done anything useful about it.

Neither is Karen Bass.

Even when they clean up an encampment and do a big victory lap, the encampment returns,

excuse me, repopulates a short time later.

So there's an alternative in this election.
