Summary

In a three-day opening statement Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney John Lewin laid out the state’s case against accused murderer Robert Durst for killing long-time friend Susan Berman. Jurors were riveted as Lewin explained how the murder of Berman and Durst’s Galveston, Texas neighbor Morris Black were committed by Durst in order to cover up the disappearance, and presumed murder, of his wife Kathleen Durst. Did the marathon opening statement help the state’s case? Or will Durst’s defense team be able to show that there’s no evidence linking him to the killing of Susan Berman.
