This weekend, we're continuing in our series called the Jesus filter,

going through the Gospel of Mark,

and we're just learning how Jesus made decisions in real time.

What did he say yes to and what did he say no to?

How did he determine the direction for his life?

And as we approach Christmas, we're going to be challenged in our understanding

that Jesus made a decision to go all in for us, and that has a daily implication, has a daily

invitation for us to go all in for him. Earlier this week, I pulled in my driveway, and there was a box

at the end of the driveway that

needed to be brought into the house. This is not an unusual experience. This is daily, sometimes

multiple times a day. And we do this little thing in our house where she orders boxes,

and I bring them in, then she empties them, and I take them out. I don't usually know what's in the box.

It's just a dance we do, but on this occasion, I looked at the box and it said right

there on the box, it was a dirt bike, like a motorcycle, but it was small.

And I do a little processing, and I realized my wife has ordered a motorcycle for my three-year-old grandson.

If you know my wife, you know that she's from Kansas, and this is how they roll in Kansas.

You get a dirt bike when you're three, you drive a combine when you're 10, and you get your

driver's license when you're 12.

Like that's how it plays out.
