Hello and welcome to the Byron York Show, the no-chitchat podcast we like to get right into

And what we're going to get into today is the January 6th Committee charade.

Now maybe it seems like charade is too strong a word, but let's go through some things

and then see if it really is.

So at the end of the now famous January 6th Committee hearing that featured Cassidy

Hutchinson, the former top aide to then White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

At the end of that hearing, Liz Cheney, the, what you would call the ranking member if

there were Republican-appointed Republicans, but is actually the vice chair of the committee.

She delivered an elaborate tease for the next episode from the committee, which has not

yet been scheduled.

She thanked Cassidy Hutchinson for her testimony.

Now remember that testimony featured the now contested story that former President Trump

attacked his own secret service agents in the presidential SUV.

So Cheney thanks Cassidy Hutchinson and then said, I'm quoting now, that brings me

to a different topic.

While our committee has seen many witnesses, including many Republicans testify fully

and forthrightly, this has not been true of every witness.

And we have received evidence of one particular practice that raises significant concerns.

So you think, wow, she's starting up some whole new line of discussion.

Now that one particular practice to which she was referring was alleged witness tampering

on behalf of Trump.
