I'm Pete Sampson joined in person by Matt Fortuna at the University Visitors' guest suite on floor nine of the Notre Dame Press Box.

After Notre Dame's 316 win over USC, I don't know if there were a lot of revelations tonight,

but there was certainly some progress offensively.

Defensively, why don't we just get the Kyle Hamilton part out of the way now?

Brian Kelly said a pinched fat pad in the knee, which I'd never even heard of as an injury.

Or a body part.

Or a body part.

But the prognosis would be optimistic.

Will he play against North Carolina?

It's unclear.

But considering what knee injuries typically are, that could have been season.

And it appears that it's not.

So, Notre Dame, by virtue of that, comes out of this game with pretty much everything in front of it.

And I think not only do they have stuff to build on, they actually built on something

tonight.

Like they made, they took a step forward in a way that they've sort of been waiting to for

the better part of two months.
