The annual NFL league meetings are taking place this week.

Everybody is out in Phoenix, which this time of year, Phoenix is actually highly enjoyable.

It's not overly hot, usually.

But everybody is out there. The Cowboys contingent. Heard a lot from Coach Brian Schottenheimer yesterday, but also later on yesterday

afternoon. I guess now Cowboys co-owner and vice president of player personnel, Stephen Jones had some things to say.

And when Stephen speaks, I do find it interesting because to me, in the last handful of years,

he's gotten a lot more, I guess, where you can take away more of what he says than you can with Jared. Direct? Is that the word? Maybe direct is the way to say it? Because if you look at a drawing of what Jerry says, it's just like a little three-year-old, just kind of crayon, it's everywhere. All over the place. Scatterbrained. And while you may not enjoy what Stephen's saying, he does get to the point. He does. He doesn't have all these weird analogies and tell a story from 30 years ago. He basically will say kind of how it is. And a lot of the times you can read between the lines with him, especially when it comes to players. He's talking about, we appreciate this man and blah blah blah and all this okay well they're not bringing

that guy back and he makes it pretty obvious when they want to have somebody around but let's listen

to some of the things that he had to say because he did talk about on what gives him confidence

that Dallas will win more coming up here in 2026 I just you know, just our work in the offseason.

I think we, you know, we had a great, I think, a search in terms of revamping our defensive

staff.

So I feel very optimistic about that and what we can get done there.

And then, you know, certainly feel good about our start with our personnel,

what we've done in pre-agency. And certainly sitting here with two number ones, you feel good

about improving our team. So we're very optimistic about, you know, what we can do. All you have to do

is look around the league and look who was in the Super Bowl this

year, who would have guessed. And, you know, hats off to Seattle, hats off to New England,
