What's going on? Joe, how you doing? I'm good, guys. Hey, just like any good draft process, I have positioned flex. You know, I have versatility. I can move around. I can adapt. So I'm ready to roll.

That's what we like to hear. We're glad that you appreciate that. That's why you're so high up on the draft board for us because you can't. You have that flexibility. We appreciate it. So let's deal. Let's talk Cowboys, man. And what you've made of what the Cowboys have done so far in free agency. Yeah. no, I think it's been a little bit of, you know, stretching

slightly beyond what they normally do in terms of going after one guy that they're willing

to give a little bit more money to, but I think it's pretty similar in terms of being kind

of the risk-averse nature of what they've usually done. I think I would describe it as, you know,

because I think that they've been in on guys, you know, like they wanted Max Fraubby at the time. And they set a limit and they weren't going to go beyond that. And they said, okay, that's cool. And they walked away from the dealership with that. You know, they were in on a couple other guys, you know, some corners and some linebackers. you know, Nikobe deemis something we talked a lot about. They obviously had interest there.

And, you know, some corners and some linebackers. You know, Nick Kobe Dean was something we talked a lot about. They obviously had interest there. And, you know, I don't think that they were willing to go beyond certain levels with certain guys. And that's why you're kind of seeing them get the guys they have. So, I mean, they went beyond for Jalen Thompson. I think that was a essential piece for Christian Parker's defense. but, you know, they signed Kobe Durant overnight or agreed to him with terms.

And that's kind of someone I think that fits like, hey, you know, that's a good value signing and can fit a role.

My big takeaway, though, so far is who's going to play next to the Marvion on Overshund?

Did you think they would be more active in terms of maybe not Jalen Thompson level, I mean, $13 million a year, but did you think that there could be somebody that would be in that range

of the $10 million or maybe $8 to $10 or something like that?

Just be more active with guys that aren't the value that we're so used to them seeing.

I thought they could have done too.

Jalen Thompson and then another guy with double-digit A.A.V.

That was kind of like my projection.

And I think there were a couple guys they were talking to.

You know, I think a corner with someone, you know, there was someone there that they kind of liked a lot and went somewhere else. And, you know, I think that there's, there was interest in doing those things, but I think it just came back to, they weren't going to go to the levels that some teams work. You know, I think you look at a guy like Jalen Phillips. I mean, they weren't going to spend $30 million a year on Jalen Phillips like the Carolina Panthers did, right? And you look at some of the other edge rushers, you know, Boy Mofi, you know, like Adafi O'A. Like these were guys that signed, I think, beyond what they were expecting. And I think that they set a limit and they were okay with it. I think Cowboys fans would have liked to see them, hey, why don't we be a little bit more risky? Why don't we do the extra two, $3 million a year to go get the guy we want? They weren't willing to do that this time around. It's Joseph Hort covers the Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News.
