Fox. Labor Day has come, it was a day off, which is good, a long weekend, which is good.

Labor Day is also sort of the unofficial marker for certain aspects of our culture. It's the unofficial end of summer. It's the

beginning of school for some of our college friends. It's the unofficial beginning

to a presidential race even though politics the begin if it never stops. The wardrobe changes with sweaters and long boots and heavier

suits and I'm told I cannot wear my white patent leather shoes anymore.

I'm just kidding.

I'm gonna keep wearing those no matter what time of the year it is.

It's sporting events, cookouts, legs, pools, and perhaps

even a little golf. That's Labor Day in America. But every now and

again it's good for us to reflect on why we have this day off in the first

instance what precisely are we celebrating? What is this precept

we are recognizing and why is it significant enough for us to warrant taking a day and simply reflecting on it.

To me, it is about the American worker, the gift of having a job, the awareness that many among us do not currently have work,

or have had their work lives offended.

It's celebrating, remembering, hoping for sympathizing with our fellow citizens in and around the

this thing we call work or labor.

It's a celebration of our willingness to work,
