From the New York Times, this is the interview.

0:07.1

I'm David Marquesie.

0:10.7

This week, my subject is the comedian and podcaster Andrew Schultz.

0:15.3

He's become an arena headliner on the strength of his very irreverent, defiantly anti-woke stand-up.

0:22.2

He is extremely unshy about leaning into raunch, slurs, and ethnic jokes. His most recent special, though,

0:27.6

which is called Life and which came out earlier this year, did see him move into more vulnerable

0:32.0

territory. It's about his and his wife's experience with IVF, but it's still pretty not safe for work.

1:14.3

on the show, which for me begs the question of what it is exactly that Schultz is trying

1:18.8

to achieve with Flagrant and what, if any, responsibilities he feels he has.

1:23.8

Oh, and just a quick note before we start. First, Schultz refers a couple times in our interview to Felice.

1:29.3

Felice is a video producer on the show who was in the room while we spoke.

1:33.1

And second, this interview contains language that some people may find offensive.

1:37.2

All right, here's my interview with Andrew Schultz.

1:47.7

Andrew, thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. I appreciate it.
