And of course, Greg Kosell, and as promised, he's going to recap the rest of the NFC East.

We already did the Eagles recap of their draft.

Now we're going to recap the NFC East

rivals of the Eagles and their 2006 NFL draft. And Greg, we'll start with the chief

rivals, one of three teams in the division that had two first round picks, the Dallas Cowboys.

Somebody asked me, Greg, what would be a nightmare scenario for an Eagles fan? This is before the draft. And I said, I don't know if, like, Caleb Downs fell to the Cowboys. And he did. He kind of did. Yeah, he did. So obviously the Cowboys get Downs and then later Malachi Lawrence, the edge rusher in the first round. What do you think of these two guys? Well, we know Christian Parker is now they're D.C. and he comes, you know, from the Eagles where there's the Vic Fanjo school. So one of the things you really want in that defense is safeties that are really smart and savvy because you start a lot with that quarter structure, but you do a lot off of that. So your safeties have to be really smart and

aware. And Caleb Downs, you know, besides the physical traits, that's probably, you know,

what he is. He's just a really smart, aware, savvy player, sees things well. We all know that from

everything that we've heard, probably read and personally from conversations is that

he just killed the pre-draft process with how he's, you know, talked about the game and talked

about each team's defense when he went to visit each team. So, you know, it's a really, really good

pick. He'll be a day one starter. The thing, Greg, when we look at the

Cowboys is that, you know, they've had problems on defense, discipline, tackling, all sorts of

things. But to me, getting a guy like Caleb Downs, who's such a good football player,

you've talked about it before, like Russian cover.

You have to be good on the back end as well. You've got to tackle too. Safety's have to tackle these days. And he's good at that. You got to fill it. To me, this is a foundation player where you can feel, you know what, we've got one here. Yeah. The only thing if you want to nitpick is you wouldn't say he's an exceptional superlative athlete,

but he's an

exceptional superlative athlete, but he's just a really good football player. And like I said,

he'll start from day one. And then you go to Lawrence, who was a player I really liked him. He's got

good size. He's 6.4 plus over 250 pounds. He can play 4 D.N. I think that he showed both a desirable
