Summary

We’ve all heard inflammation is harmful, but what exactly is it, why does it happen, and how can we truly heal it? The answers, it turns out, lie deep within your gut. In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, an award-winning gastroenterologist and internationally recognized gut health expert, to explore the growing role of chronic inflammation in modern health issues. After years of treating patients, Dr. B noticed a clear pattern: conditions ranging from digestive disorders like IBS, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis to allergies, autoimmune disease, depression, skin concerns, hormonal imbalances, and metabolic issues are often connected by a common root—the gut-immune system and inflammation.

We discuss the core ideas behind his book Plant Powered Plus and how a practical, plant-forward, evidence-based approach can help address inflammation at its source rather than simply managing symptoms. Dr. B explains why the gut is central to immune health, how inflammation develops, and how daily choices around food, circadian rhythm, supplements, and lifestyle can either fuel disease or support healing. This conversation offers a hopeful, actionable roadmap for anyone looking to restore balance, reduce inflammation, and build lasting vitality from the inside out.
